What’s this crisis about?
I have been invited to participate to an International Award Contest where Entrepreneurs from all over this planet participate with their business plans.
The award was:
1st) 30.000€ to the best business plan
2nd) 15.000€ to the second business plan
3rd) 5.000€ to the third business plan
4th) 3.000€ to the best elevator pitch
5th) 3.000€ to the best plan with social value
Anyone else percieves something extrange here? Yes? No?
Here is my point of view:
All companies should seek the employee’s and customer’s fulfillment. And by fulfillment I mean it in all senses: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. All companies should bring value to society. And society’s role is to seek the betterment of this humanity and this planet. Only then we will be expressing our full potential as humans.
But the reality is another. The reality is that 90% of human Consciousness remains Unconscious. As a consequence of this, we have the scale of values upside down. We first award companies that are attractive because of the “profit” it can generate, irrespective of the social value they add.
Thus, this crisis is not an “economic” (profit-based) crisis. It’s a crisis of how we rank our values.
If I ask you what’s more important: a mol.lecule (group of cells), a cell (group of attoms) or an attom…what would you say? Certainly the attom is the brick that builds the cell, and the cell is needed to build a molecule. In other words, the attom’s mission is to serve the cell, and the cell’s vision is to contribute to a healthy molecule.
Why don’t we apply this in our values of “profit” (atom), “society” (cell) and “environment” (molecule)?
Let’s see how things are interdependent in this One Life: profit serves society, and society serves human life and other types of life, taking care of our planet.
We, humans are part of Society, and our Society is part of a bigger Enviornment where other forms of living live. Let’s do business with the proper order of values. Let’s award those business that serve society first!
